Ballot Drop Box Installations Moving Forward

As we approach the end of the year we are just 60 days away from the March 3rd Presidential Primary Election. As we continue to make agreements with property owners our installation crews are ramping up with installation of multiple drop boxes per day. In this photo several are lined up for pre-installation pick ups.

As seen in this photo we have settled on a ballot collection container that will be inserted in every drop box. This container allows the ballots to fall into the device, which will then be collected daily by teams of two individuals - each container will be tightly controlled with seals and strict chain of custody plans.

Our teams can view up-to-date operational data on our Vote Centers in real time throughout our offices. This data shows how many vote centers we've secured, how many drop boxes, the number of vote center employees recruited and more. This data is critical to the operation and is shared to keep employees informed.

Members of the U.S. Coast Guard, stationed in Puerto Rico, recently shared with us the challenges of voting for members of the military. Our office, in conjunction with the Department of Defense, is participating in pilot programs designed to improve the delivery of military ballots through technical improvements.

This week we were at Golden West College conducting outreach on Vote Centers and voting in general. We interacted with many students interested in the changes coming to Orange County elections. Our outreach continues daily, with multiple events planned throughout Orange County each week.
