Vote Center Mock Election Scheduled for January 7, 2020

The public is invited to our mock election, which will be taking place on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from 10am - 6pm. Voters will have two locations to choose from, our office in Santa Ana (1300 South Grand Avenue) or Mission Viejo City Hall (200 Civic Center Drive). The mock election will allow voters to experience the full benefits of vote centers, plus interact on our new equipment.

Vote Center Communication Plan Kicks In January 6th

Our extensive Vote Center communication plan, designed to reach all of our 1.6 million voters, will begin on January 6th with an extensive outdoor campaign. This outreach plan will continue through March 3rd. One of the pieces of the plan, as seen in this photo, includes multiple layers of messaging in our Voter Information Guide.

How to Remove Hundreds of Pounds of Ballots
How to Remove Hundreds of Pounds of Ballots

We recently reported on our new ballot collection container that will be inserted in every drop box. But we had to solve how to remove hundreds of pounds of ballots on a daily basis from each box. We've custom built a wood pallet along with ramps that will allow our ballot collection teams to safely remove this precious cargo each day.

Finalizing Voter Check-In Mobile Solutions

As seen in this photo, one of our tools that we will use in each Vote Center will be a mobile check-in device. In addition to our four permanent check-in stations we will have a team member dedicated to "directing traffic" and keeping voters moving through the process. This person will also be able to check-in voters while interacting with them when they arrive.

We are in the process of printing our Voter Information Guides, which includes our covers. These covers include bright call-outs designed to alert voters to the important changes coming to voting here in Orange County in 2020. The Voter Information Guide will also include details on all aspects of our Vote Centers.
