Election Accuracy Verified

Prior to certification, audits and tests were completed to verify the accuracy of the election results. The legally required one percent manual tally of precincts hand counted 6,249 ballots from among 31 precincts.  The manual tally results were compared with the election results produced by the County’s voting system. While not legally required, a risk-limiting ballot comparison audit was also conducted. Ballots among 18 contests were examined and compared to the cast vote record. Both audits confirmed that the results of the election were correct. A post-election logic and accuracy testing of Orange County's voting system equipment and software was also conducted. The Registrar of Voters also confirmed that the state-certified voting system software had not been modified during the election. Details on the audits can be found at ocvote.gov/rla
