Close of Candidate Filing

The candidate filing period for the November 8, 2022 General Election will close this Friday, August 12, 2022 at 5:00pm. Interested candidates for elected offices are encouraged to file for candidacy ahead of this deadline. School and special district candidates file with the Registrar of Voters. To learn more, visit our website at ocvote.gov/candidates. Candidates for city offices must file with their City Clerk.

On Thursday, August 18 at 11 a.m., the Secretary of State and the Registrar of Voters will determine the order that candidates' names appear on the ballot for the November 8, 2022 General Election. Once the randomized alphabet draw is conducted, it will be posted on our website at ocvote.gov/elections/2022-general-election/legal-election-documents
