Any qualified person, other than the incumbent, can now file the Declaration of Intention papers and pay the filing fee until February 9 at 5 p.m.
SANTA ANA, Calif. – Feb. 5, 2026 – The Declaration of Intention period for candidates for judicial office of the Superior Court has been extended until Feb. 9 at 5 p.m. for the office listed below for the June 2, 2026 Statewide Direct Primary Election because the incumbent failed to file Declaration of Intention papers by the Feb. 4 deadline.
The office is: Superior Court Judge, Office Number 13
Any qualified person, other than the incumbent, can now file Declaration of Intention papers and pay the filing fee until Feb. 9 at 5 p.m., at the Registrar of Voters office located at 1300 S. Grand Ave., Building C, Santa Ana, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
To be qualified, a candidate for the office of Superior Court Judge must be a registered voter in California and have been a member of the State Bar or served as a judge of a court of record in California for 10 years immediately preceding selection. The filing fee for the office is $2,447.27.
Candidates for Superior Court Judge must file a Declaration of Intention before they file Nomination Papers and Declaration of Candidacy forms.
Starting Feb. 9 through March 6 at 5 p.m., Nomination Papers and Declaration of Candidacy forms for any office may be obtained from and must be delivered for filing to the Registrar of Voters’ office. No person shall be considered a legally qualified candidate for any office unless that person has filed a Declaration of Candidacy or Statement of Write-in Candidacy with the elections official.
